Spring Break – not camping, but at Disney

Now that I explained (briefly) our crazy 2019, we will time hop backwards a bit.

Roy graduated in December 2018 from UK, with his PhD in Civil Engineering. We knew he would be busy with interviews and travel, attempting to secure a position as a professor at one of various universities. The timing of this worked out pretty good, as his final, on-site interviews were right after Tripp’s Spring Break. We took that week to head back to Orlando for a week. We drove (not the RV) and stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Poor Lizzie had to stay back in Kentucky for this trip.

Proud of our graduate!

Our preference would always be to stay on property, and at Fort Wilderness. However, sometimes we have to make a more economical decision. Bonnet Creek is a great option, though, because it is a condo style resort and we can utilize the kitchen set up for quick breakfasts in the morning before a day of Park Hopping. Also, there are several different pools in the complex, mini golf and some quick eatery options for when we need a mid day break or a fast dinner before bed.

Our first few days of Spring Break, we met up with some friends (and Roy’s co-worker) and this worked out well as Tripp was entertained in line by the Kirk boys!!

I was initially hesitant to visit Walt Disney World on Spring Break; however, the crowds were not terrible. I do believe that many people were holding out for late Fall and Winter visits or Spring Break 2020, when Galaxy’s Edge will be open. That is fine, we were able to do a LOT of park hopping this week and as always, were so sad to go home. Don’t worry! We will be back soon and we also have both Holiday 2019 and 2020 already booked at the Fort!

One of our faves….Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre, at Hollywood Studios
Roy and Tripp love this tree, just outside of the Starbucks at Hollywood Studios. I guess it is an inside joke or something?!?!?!
